4G LTE Connectivity
Vartech’s DiamondVue and fully sealed ToughStation series of rugged computers and kiosks are now available with optional 4G LTE connectivity. Ideal for industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
Industrial 4G LTE connections allow users to benefit from secure, low latency, and high bandwidth wireless communications by expanding the connectivity to isolated and off-site applications. This was developed to be used at remote locations, on the go, and always connected. The technology serves as a great backup for WiFi in case your wireless connection fails you. In addition to higher capacity, the benefits of 4G LTE are lower latency times that play a key role in the smooth data retrieval of IoT applications that rely on real-time information, such as data from production systems.
The antenna is available as non-weatherproof or IP67 certified and uses Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3) for HMI, SCADA, and PLC operations. The modem supports Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), dual SIMs, single SKU for AT&T/ T-Mobile/ Verizon Networks, and integrated TCP/IP stacks. Allowing for more flexible placement options, dedicated and responsive customer care, and continuous monitoring for disruption-free connectivity.

4G LTE connectivity is available on our DiamondVue and ToughStation series of computers, as well as our ToughStation kiosks and hazardous area kiosks.

4G LTE:
4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a standard for wireless transmission data, commonly called the fourth generation of mobile network technology. The standard is designed for lower latency (the time data travels via the network) and increased bandwidth. Bandwidth speeds can be as high as 150 Mbps on the downlink and up to 50 Mbps on the uplink.
The technology is SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) card based, and our modems support AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon as carriers.
Important Benefits of 4G LTE:
- The higher bandwidth enables faster access to content and applications, particularly video applications that can only be offered today on fixed systems.
- The low latency enables time-sensitive applications like voice services.
- The all-IP architecture enables new converging services based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).
What are some applications that can benefit from 4G/LTE connections?

MILITARY & EMERGENCY
Mission critical vehicles and remote sites for military and first responders.

CONSTRUCTION
Remote construction sites where wired or wifi connections are unavailable.

OIL & GAS
Remote well site, compressor, and storage tank monitoring for HMI access from anywhere.

REMOTE DISPLAYS
Public service computers such as toll stations or informational kiosks in remote areas.

TRANSPORTATION
Automation and equipment management at remote locations, such as weigh stations.
