Hazardous Area Solutions

Hazardous Area Monitors, Panel PCs, and Panel PC Workstations for use in Hazloc Work Environments

Class 1 Division 2 Hazardous Area Certified Monitors and Panel Computers

ToughStation Fully-sealed Class I Division 2 hazardous area certified touchscreen monitors and panel PCs with rugged gasket-sealed stainless-steel enclosures, sealed-gland I/O connectors with captive cables, and incapable of causing a spark or ignition under normal conditions (non-incendive). This fanless design is certified for safe human-machine interface (HMI) operations in hazardous (HazLoc) locations where explosive or flammable gasses and vapors may exist during an abnormal occurrence such as a leak.

DiamondVue CID2 panel mount monitors and panel PCs offer the same level of rugged NEMA 4X protection as our non-hazardous version, and provide the same level of CID2 certified protection when properly installed in a qualified, sealed enclosure.

Purge Protected Division 1 Monitors and Panel PC Workstations

These fully-sealed displays and panel computer workstations are designed with purge and pressurization systems that can be configured to allow safe HMI visualization and machine control in Division 1 areas. Energized components are protected from the accumulation of flammable gases and explosive elements in the outside atmosphere by pressurizing the enclosure with clean air or inert gas which is regulated and monitored by the purge system. This process reduces the classification within the protected enclosure from Division 1 to non-hazardous. VarTech’s purge protected monitors and computer workstations are available Type X and Type Z purge systems, and can be configured for safe operation in various hazardous area locations.
