RoHS Compliance Statement
VarTech Systems is committed to providing our customers with environmentally friendly products compliant with the European Union RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive and RoHS2 (RoHS recast).
The RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC) addresses the design phase of products and aims to restrict the use of six hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), for the protection of human health and the environment. The main requirement of the RoHS regulation is that from July 1, 2006 a manufacturer may not put a new EEE containing lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), in amounts exceeding set maximum concentration values, on the market throughout the EU. To meet this directive, all components within a product must be examined to assess levels of restricted substances.
VarTech Systems recognizes the environmental value of the RoHS directive, our engineering departments have been designing new products using RoHS compliant components since January 2006. In addition, our current product lines have already transitioned to meet the RoHS 2 compliant directive which expands the RoHS directive to all electrical and electronic equipment, cables and spare parts.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding VarTech’s RoHS compliance please feel free to contact us.
The United States Government, through the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), controls the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). These regulations implement the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act, and are described in Title 22 (Foreign Relations), Chapter 1 (Department of State), Subchapter M Code of Federal Regulations.
The US Department of State interprets and enforces ITAR. Its goal is to safeguard US National Security and further US foreign policy objectives via trade controls.
For practical purposes, ITAR regulates the information and materials pertaining to defense and military related technologies (i.e., USML items). These items may only be shared with US persons and not exported in any manner unless authorization from the Department of State is received or a special exemption is used. United States companies can face heavy fines by the US Department of State for ITAR trade violations (e.g., exporting controlled technology or items without approval or the use of an exemption, provided foreign [non-US persons] with access to ITAR protected defense articles, services or technical data).
VarTech Systems Inc. is an ITAR-registered corporation and strictly follows the provisions set within. This includes the sale and export of optical filters, coatings and display assemblies with military applications. Please contact us directly if you need our ITAR Registration Number or if you require additional information on our products and for a export control/end use survey so that ITAR control applicability can be properly determined.
